Full LED Conference Programme

You will notice that we have adjusted slightly the start and end times of the conference.

The pre conference workshops are to be held on Tuesday 22 November. See our Pre-Conference workshop page for full details about the workshops. This will be followed by the formal conference opening, now on the Tuesday evening, with a pōwhiri (formal Māori welcoming ceremony), the first keynote address, and an extra function, with wine and canapés provided.

A key reason for bringing the conference opening forward to the Tuesday evening is that it now allows us to finish the conference on the Friday evening (with the conference dinner being the culmination). This avoids the conference running into the Saturday morning, which many delegates have indicated to us results in difficulties in terms of managing their return travel. Even if you are not travelling out that day, this gives you the opportunity to enjoy the sights of Auckland on Saturday at your leisure.

We look forward to seeing you soon at LED 2011!

The Wharf, 2 Queen Street, Northcote Point, Auckland

Delegates will first be treated to a ferry ride on Auckland's sparkling Waitemata Harbour, arriving at the Wharf’s own private jetty for the dinner.

The Wharf™ is a specialist function venue with undeniably the most beautiful waterfront panorama in Auckland. Breathtaking views of the city skyline and Waitemata harbour during the day, and a ribbon of twinkling city lights across the entire horizon at night, provide the perfect backdrop for you and your guests to enjoy. Attentive and thoughtful service with innovative and exciting cuisine creates a fine dining experience designed to match the stunning vista.
Be entertained by Motor City Family Funk, a ten-piece band that performs material sourced from the heyday of the Motown era.  The band is an established Auckland institution, regularly filling Rakinos on High Street to capacity with their faithful renditions of some of the greatest soul and funk songs ever written, as well as their sharp dress sense and slick presentation.  The band boasts a three-piece vocal frontline and features the beautiful and talented Esther Stephens.
Please note, the dinner is not included in your registration fee. Tickets can be purchased for you, friends, family and colleagues.

The conference dinner includes pre-dinner drinks, a buffet meal and entertainment and a limited bar tab, as well as the ferry ride. A cash bar will also be available.
